Entagen: Entering Genomics

We are just now entering the genomics era.

Our name, Entagen (pronounced En-tah-gen) stands for “Entering Genomics” and represents the fact the we are passionate about helping to build tools and technologies that will fuel the genomics era.

With the completion of a rough draft of the human genome sequence in 2000, the stage was set for a revolution in the analysis and use of large-scale genomics data for the advancement of the biomedical research and development. However, the promise of genomic technologies and their associated data has taken much longer to yield dividends then many expected. Harnessing these novel technologies and data types is a complex undertaking.

However, with the passing of nearly a decade, we are starting to see the true power of genomics technologies and methods come to fruition. With the advent of viable next generation sequencing methods, the commoditization and standardization of microarray technologies and the increased capabilities of today’s computing infrastructure we are now truly entering the genomics era.
